About the team
You’ll join the Chief Procurement Office within Business Services, specifically in the Strategic Sourcing team. The team collaborates across the CPO and the wider City to deliver high quality procurement advice, sourcing services and stakeholder support. You’ll also engage with suppliers and tenderers to ensure effective procurement outcomes.
About the role
The Sourcing Officer provides procurement advisory and administrative services to support the delivery of effective, compliant and value-for-money procurement outcomes for the City.
This role supports the delivery of Strategic Sourcing Services across the organisation and assists in the development of Sourcing Administration Officers. The position requires prior procurement experience, a strong understanding of procurement as a business function, and demonstrated experience leading low-risk and/or lower-value procurement activities.

We’re seeking a proactive and detail-oriented procurement professional who can work collaboratively while confidently managing procurement activities within defined risk thresholds. The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
• Previous experience in procurement, sourcing or contract administration roles.
• Demonstrated ability to lead low-risk and/or lower-value procurement activities independently.
• A sound understanding of strategic sourcing principles and procurement frameworks.
• Strong analytical and organisational skills, with high attention to detail.
• Well-developed written communication skills and experience preparing procurement documentation.
• Confidence in using procurement, finance and document management systems.
• The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
• A collaborative and customer-focused approach to supporting internal stakeholders.
• A willingness to learn, develop and contribute to capability building within the procurement team.
