About the role
You will take lead in delivering engineering solutions, infrastructure designs, and applying infrastructure standards across a range of customer and community-facing assets. You will provide design leadership and verification for multidisciplinary municipal projects in both greenfield and brownfield environments.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Lead the design and documentation of water, wastewater, and utility infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with city, industry and Australian standards.
- Prepare engineering drawings, bases of design report, specifications, cost estimates, and conduct hydraulic modelling and feasibility studies.
- Manage project design delivery, including planning, monitoring, reporting, tendering, procurement, and construction support.
- Ensure regulatory compliance, integrate risk management, and apply Safety in Design principles.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, provide technical guidance, and drive innovation and continuous improvement in design practices.
We’re looking for people who have:
- Experience in design management of water and wastewater infrastructure and/or hydraulic design with attention to detail.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with a focus on water/wastewater utility projects.
- Advanced knowledge in hydraulic engineering principles
- Knowledge in application of hydraulic software and, 12d model and AutoCAD.
- Good understanding of the requirements of standards and guidelines (WSAA, SEQ Code and relevant Australian Standards).
- Highly developed interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills. You utilise your highly developed analytical, problem solving and investigative skills to provide sound advice, options and recommendations to influence project outcomes.
- Advanced project and program management skills.
