About the team
Community Facilities Maintenance is a service provider for the City’s Asset managers providing all types of maintenance activities and minor installations when requested.
The Urban Precincts teams provide detailed City Cleaning, Horticultural, and minor maintenance services to Broadwater Parklands, Village Heart, HOTA, and Robina Green Heart to ensure that the public is ready to use the facilities.
About the role
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Leading Hand Precinct Operations to work at Village Heart within the City Facilities Maintenance Branch.
Based at Village Heart under direction of the Supervisor Urban Precincts Operations and Maintenance, you will work as part of a team responsible for maintaining and enhancing parks, landscaped and recreational spaces within the City’s open space regions and road network and other general duties listed below:
- Provide day-to-day supervision and direction for a work team.
- Planting, pruning, mulching, hedging, removing green waste, spraying herbicides/weed removal and operating equipment such as leaf blowers, chainsaws, mowers, hedgers, water blasters and pole saws.
- Toilet and BBQ cleaning
- Servicing of wheelie bins.
- Ride on mower operations.
- Event preparation
- Daily playground visual inspections and cleaning
- Demonstrate behaviours that contribute to a positive and successful team.
- Follow established work practices and consistently deliver high quality work.
We’re looking for people who have:
- Certificate IV Horticulture / relevant qualification or equivalent knowledge and experience
- MR Drivers Licence or higher (Mandatory)
- General Construction Induction Card (White) (Mandatory)
- Commercial Operators Licence (ACDC) (Mandatory)
- Ability and willingness to work weekends, overtime and on-call as required
