About the role
This position sits within The purpose of this position is to influence and contribute to the creation, audit, and maintenance of an effective assets management program with consideration to the whole-of-life cycle cost of an asset. The position will provide technical and professional expertise for the assessment of waterway infrastructure.
You will be responsible for the effective and efficient development, utilisation and maintenance of waterways constructed infrastructure and boating facilities.
This position develops and implements trials and augmentations to optimise maintenance and reduce expenditure and liaises across planning and operational activities for timely growth of assets necessary to deliver optimum performance.
Position Responsibilities:
- Commitment to achievement of zero harm to staff and the community.
- Review, collate and prioritise condition assessment results for Lakes and Waterways assets.
- Develop 1, 4 and 10 year future capital works program.
- Prepare documents in line with the City’s Capital Delivery Framework.
- Define project scope, stakeholder engagement and delivery timelines.
- Work closely with the Project Manager
- Manage and report on capital budgets.
- Preparation of high-quality written documentation such as reports and briefing notes when required.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
- Represent the team/branch as a member of internal and external working groups.
We’re looking for people who have:
- Degree in Civil Engineering or Equivalent Engineering or Equivalent Knowledge
- Drivers Licence Class “C” Unrestricted
- High level interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with an ability to produce project plans, communicate effectively and professionally with team members, field staff, administrative staff, management, Councillors and customers as required
- High level investigative, research and problem solving/analytical skills, including the ability to interpret and determine an appropriate course of action and provide options or recommendations
- High level of knowledge and experience in the operation, construction, maintenance and renewal of road related assets, e.g. asphalt, kerb and channel, drainage, earthworks and subdivisional works
- Well developed knowledge of Policies, Procedures, Systems and legislation, relevant to transport infrastructure
- Well developed experience in Council’s corporate systems such as Pathway, and SAP, MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Access), PDF editing software, and the ability to identify opportunities for process improvements through better utilisation of systems
