About the team
The Environment, Heritage and Resilience department is home to the Waste Collection Services business unit. We provide services to over 269,000 domestic and commercial properties across the City, from operational support of our contract delivery partners and internal support areas. Delivering an essential, valued and safe community service, whilst generating annual revenue back to the City of circa $100 million.
About your new role
An opportunity exists within the Waste Collection Services team for a Bulky Kerbside Technical Officer to support the bulky kerbside service and a new grants program. This role will work with internal and external stakeholders, playing an important role in grant management and contract support.
Responsibilities of the role include (but are not limited to):
- Manage the rebate process for bulky kerbside customers, including reviewing and approving applications.
- Liaise with building managers or various customer representatives to qualify eligibility for service rebates.
- Support the issues management process for bulky kerbside collection service when changing service levels or introducing new services.
- Manage the documentation of the rebate process, including manually updating customer files in various systems.
- Liaise with central customer services to ensure a positive customer experience for bulky kerbside collection customers.
- Review and revise eligibility criteria in alignment with changes to the service model, ensuring they remain current and appropriate.
- Conduct site inspections as necessary to assess and document service specifications, with a focus on safety and accessibility for bulky kerbside collection.

We're looking for people who have:
- A Certificate IV in Waste Management, Business or Equivalent Knowledge
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work across different systems and software applications
- Ability to manage stakeholder relationships, internal and external
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
