About the team
Community Facilities Maintenance is a service provider for the City’s Asset managers providing all carpentry maintenance and minor installations when requested. The goal of the Carpentry Team is to add value to the City, maintain its plumbing assets at a high level, and provide a detailed level of service that is professional and efficient.
About the role
This position is responsible for carrying out minor maintenance within Open Space in parks, waterways, and beaches, also all council owned building such as libraries, community centres, pools, tourist parks, rec centres and councillor offices.
- Carpentry, joinery, cabinetwork, general maintenance, plastering and minor tiling activities associated with the repair and maintenance of Council buildings, facilities and assets.
- Work is performed to meet safety, environmental and legislative requirements, and responsibilities of the Council, together with the adherence of all Council WH&S guidelines and procedures.
- Complete work in accordance with the relevant codes and standards.
- Conduct all business transactions in an ethical, friendly, and professional manner.
- Attend training to maintain and enhance existing qualifications or gain further skills.
We’re looking for people who have:
- Certificate III Carpentry (Mandatory)
- C Class Drivers Licence (Mandatory)
- General Construction Induction Card (White) (Mandatory)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, allowing you to influence a wide range of stakeholders
- Self-motivation and the ability to work independently to 'get the job done right'
